Rock Steady Boxing

Rock Steady Boxing Richmond

Designed for people with Parkinson's disease. Evidence proves that exercise is just as effective as medication in combating the symptoms and slowing the progression of Parkinson's disease.  Our classes are designed to tackle specific PD symptoms head-on -- focusing on getting the brain and body to work together better.  Any level of disease progression is welcome, from those recently diagnosed to those needing support from assistive devices or a caregiver.

Work on the heavy bags and speed bags improves hand-eye coordination and quickness of movement

Improves balance reactions and reduces the risk of falling

Stretching

Reduces stiffness/rigidity and improves gait related mobility issues

Punching the heavy bags and stretching improves postural awareness

A built-in network of friends who are fighting the same battle as you

Additional Information

Any level of disease progression is welcome, from those recently diagnosed with minimal symptoms to those needing support from assistive devices or a caregiver. The most appropriate class level for each fighter will be determined during an assessment. Assessments are scheduled by calling or emailing, assessments are $45.

Length: Classes are 60 or 75 minutes long and are available Monday through Friday.
